Lakes PE The Scores are in!

Fitness scores that is. Each student was tested in the fall and again before finals. As predicted, most scores improved. Some records were broken. The new records board will be changed and students again will aim to set new records.

PE Golf
New Staff Members
What do you do when you have a golf unit and there is still snow on the ground? You have the students design a miniature golf course of course. Groups of students in Ms.Schilz PE 3/4 classes each designed one hole with obstacles, twists, and turns and then the class played a round and kept score. Ms. Schilz said, "You do what you can when a situation is presented. We did all of the skills we could do using plastic golf balls and we needed to learn to keep score. This is an
activity that people of all ages and abilities can do for their whole lives so why not practice it."

Jason Ellerman is the newest teacher to join the Lakes Physical Education staff. Mr. Ellerman has been teaching at St. Patricks in Chicago for the last four years. He will be teaching Health and PE 1 and coaching football.
