Lakes Community High School’sSTUDENT GOVERNMENT is comprised of the STUDENT COUNCIL and CLASS OFFICERS.  Student Council members represent the school’s general student population. It meets regularly to discuss the school environment and any changes that could possibly be made. It also plans school-wide activities like Homecoming and spirit days. Student Council maintains membership in the Illinois Association of Student Councils, which is associated with the National Association of Student Councils. Council members are eligible to run for state or national office and participate in leadership conferences and workshops. The class officers represent the members of their graduating class. They plan school-wide activities like Prom, Turnabout, Battle of the Bands, and the Variety show, among others. All of these leadership positions require a large time commitment for both in school and out of school activities.
