FCCLA prepares lunch for local police officers
FCCLA group members prepared an appreciation luncheon for the Lake Villa and Lindenhurst police departments on Dec. 10 as part of a holiday community service project. Mostacholi, salad, and parmesan biscuits made up the main course followed by chocolate cake for dessert.
Two additional chocolate cakes went to the LCHS custodial staff and the boys’ basketball coaching staff, said foods teacher Michelle McNece.
The group raised money to fund the service project by selling BlowPops before school and during lunches several weeks ago. Members decided to use the money to recognize the efforts of the local police departments. In addition to serving the police officers lunch, the club was given a tour of the Lindenhurst facility.
“They were just thrilled,” McNece said of the Lindenhurst employees who greeted the group with its pans and plates of food. |
