Two students to perform in honors concerts
Sophomores Robbie Bock and Kateri Tumminello will join more than 200 music students from other schools on Nov. 19 to perform at the District 7 Honors Choir and Band Festival.
Bock, a tenor in the LCHS a cappella, jazz and chamber choirs, and Tumminello, who plays the tenor saxophone in the wind ensemble and jazz band, were selected to participate in the Illinois Music Educators Association event after two auditions on Oct. 5 and 6. A panel of judges elected by the IMEA selected the two for the honor. A total of more than 1,500 students auditioned for placement in the choir and band.
Bock and Tumminello will rehearse with their counterparts for one day before the culminating concert at Maine East High School in Park Ridge.
