Driver Ed. students take a cruise at Auto Show
Driver Education students explored the floor of McCormick Place during the 98th annual Chicago Auto Show on Feb. 16. They had the opportunity to inspect hundreds of cars and even sit behind the wheel of some of the latest – and hottest – models, such as a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. First organized in 1901, the show is the nation's oldest and largest.
Driver Education teacher Mark Ribbens said the field trip was designed to give the students a chance to see new cars, including concept designs that may never hit the market, as well as familiarize themselves with the cost of different makes and models.
Ribbens’ students also worked on an assignment during the visit. They researched an alternative fuel vehicle and created a PowerPoint to present to their classmates.
