Freshman Maggie Roberts helps freshman Morgan Robinson get "crazy hair" for Spirit Week.
Students and staff are combating "end-of-the-year-itis" and recognizing their progress since the first day of school with Spirit Week and Celebration Day.
The Student Council organized dress-up days for Spirit Week, including Crazy Hair Day and Look Alike Day. Hawaiian Day on May 19 aligns with the theme for the MORP dance that evening, sponsored by the Sophomore Class. Tickets cost $7.
Celebration Day, also sponsored by the Sophomore Class with the help of parent volunteers, will wrap up the regular school week festivities on May 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The LCHS community is invited to dine in the courtyard, where food items from hot dogs to buffalo wings to slushies will be on sale, and enjoy performances from the jazz band and choir. The Drama Club also is scheduled to perform skits in the Amphitheater. In the Commons, classes and student organizations will share projects, demonstrations and other accomplishments.
