Marina Mendes, an exchange student from Brazil, started at LCHS a week into the school year. Having been new once herself, she says she likes the idea of Lakes Ambassadors.

Program helps new Eagles find their way
In response to nearly 50 new students enrolling at LCHS since the start of the school year, Counselor Victoria Tremblay is organizing a program designed to ease their transition in becoming an Eagle.
Tremblay said she decided to start the program, called Lakes Ambassadors, after finding that many of the new students were having a difficult time getting to know the building, the ways of the school, and meeting people.
She is looking for 15 to 20 veteran Eagles to volunteer to help new students get acquainted with LCHS upon their arrival. The new student would spend time with a few different ambassadors over the course of a couple of days, so the new student can get a more well-rounded view of the school, the activities, and the people.
Student volunteers should have good attendance and conduct records. Anyone interested should contact Tremblay.
