Juola named Mr. LCHS
 Junior Dane Juola was named Mr. LCHS on Feb. 24, topping six other contestants in an emulous competition of talent, poise, and style. Juola sported swim trunks and a tank top glittered with “Mr. LCHS” on the back during the beach wear portion of the pageant, and he won the laughter of the audience with his stand-up comedy act.
“For me, it was extremely surreal because freshman year I never would have pictured myself in front of so many people and actually being known throughout the school,” Juola said. “Look at me now.”
The five judges, all staff members at LCHS, dubbed junior Nick Metzel as Mr. Congeniality and hailed junior Brandon Caffoe as displaying the Best Talent of the show after he read a poem to his girlfriend.
The four other contestants included juniors David Ester, Travis Moore, Gabe Reyes and Matt Styx. The contestants were judged based on their performance in six categories, including beach wear, casual wear, formal wear, career wear, talent and short answer.
The event raised $1,300 for the Junior Class. Juola’s prize is a free tuxedo rental for prom. |
