Students prepare for Jan. 11-13 semester exams
 |
| One student, freshman Christopher Wesolowicz, took a humorous approach to help fellow students cope with the often stressful semester exams week: he posted a "Stress Reduction Kit" on his locker. |
Principal Robert Crist said he encourages students, with the help of their parents and guardians, to begin preparing for next week's semester exams so they can perform their best. Semester grades are important because they are the only ones that appear on transcripts and they affect class rank.
Exams will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and end on Friday, Jan. 13. There will be an early release time of 12:35 p.m. on each of those days. The schedule is as follows:
Exam 1: 8:15-9:35 a.m.
Exam 2: 9:45-11:05 a.m.
Exam 3: 11:15 a.m.-12:35 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 11: periods 4/5, 3, 8
Thursday, Jan. 12: periods 1, 2, make up
Friday, Jan. 13: periods 6, 7, make up
If necessary, students can arrange to make up exams on Jan. 12 and 13 during the Exam 3 time frame.
The Commons will be open beginning at 7 a.m. each day for those who wish to study. Additionally, students who have a study hall are encouraged to use the time to study in the Commons, the library, or the cafeteria.
The bus schedule has been arranged to bring students home after the second final or at the end of each exam day, depending on students' testing times. The bus schedule to school on those days will remain the same as a regular school day. |
