The third annual Celebration Day, sponsored by the Sophomore Class, is scheduled for May 18 from 1:15 to 3:20 p.m. The day is designed to recognize and reward students and student groups for their achievements throughout the 2006-2007 school year.
On that day, there will be 40-minute class periods, lunch/study halls and lunch/advisories will be canceled, and lunch will not be served in the cafeteria. Instead, students can buy in advance food coupons during lunch hours beginning Monday, May 14. Students can purchase coupons for hot dogs, hamburgers, pop and chips.
The Sophomore Class is still seeking donations from parents and guardians for the following items: ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, American cheese and mayonnaise (last names between A-I); hamburger buns, hot dog buns, individual bags of chips (last names J-R); pop, water, Gatorade (last names S-Z). Donations can be dropped off in the main office.
Student organizations plan to sell food items from root beer floats to soft pretzels at the event, and peer mediators have arranged to have a dunk tank on premises. Choir members also will perform.
A parent/guardian volunteer meeting for anyone interested in helping out is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. |
