Speaker combines art with motivational talk
Matt Lewis tried to make friends when he moved into a new town, but it didn't take long for him to become known as the "biggest dork in school". Other kids would pick on him to the point that he, himself, began to think he was worthless.
And then he found art.
Lewis, now a motivational speaker, visited LCHS on Sept. 13 to share his story and present a message to the student body that "it doesn't matter what other people think". As music played in the background, he created a scenic picture using chalk to show his creativity and share something he found that makes him feel good about himself. He followed up with a multimedia presentation that used the artwork as a focal point.
Because this weekend is Homecoming, he also encouraged the audience to make smart decisions while with friends at the football game and dance.
