The Student Council food drive reeled in approximately 2,200 non-perishable food items, all of which were donated to the Open Arms Mission Food Pantry.
This is about 400 more items than the 1,800 collected during last April's food drive. Open Arms is the only community food pantry that serves Antioch, Lake Villa and Lindenhurst.
Students were asked to bring donations to their sixth period classes from April 16-20. The class with the most items by the end of the week won a pizza party. This year's winner was Rachel Morales' Spanish II class. Her students contributed 402 items for the drive. |
