The Sophomore Class faired well on the 2006-2007 PLAN test administered last November, scoring a composite score above the national average. The composite for the Eagles was 18.6 compared to the national average of 17.5. This also is a .6 improvement from the school's 2005-2006 results.
Additionally, LCHS surpassed national standings in each of the four PLAN testing areas. The students scored an average 17.6 on English compared to the national 16.9. In math, LCHS came in at 19.1 compared to the national 17.4. The students beat the 16.9 national reading score with a score of 18.0, and they also earned 19.3 in science versus the national 18.2.
Students' PLAN results were handed back this week. On Jan. 17, the 170 sophomores and juniors who took the PSAT also received their test results. The test is designed to provide students with the opportunity to get a feeling for the SAT. Counselor Sharon Rosnick met with students to help them read their test results.
Rosnick said students should consider their test results, which include information about their strengths and weaknesses, to help them decide which courses to enroll in next year. Enrollment began last week and will continue into February. |
