Alumni tell seniors about life after high school
 |
Several LCHS graduates representing about ten different colleges and universities across the Midwest shared their post-high school experiences with seniors during a panel on Nov. 25.
Home for the Thanksgiving holiday, the combination of alumni from LCHS' only two graduating classes so far—the Class of 2007 and the Class of 2008—represented colleges such as the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and the University of Dubuque. One student was a District 117 graduate from 2004.
The former Eagles addressed many topics, including financial aid, time management, dorm life, dealing with roommates, making new friends, and the social scene on their various campuses. Alumni also addressed academics and the many activities available at their respective colleges.
The Guidance Department organized this first-ever event, which 80-90 percent of seniors opted to attend during their lunch study halls. |
