County board member speaks in government class
The Lake County Board chair visited AP Government students on May 20 to offer insight into the happenings of local government. Suzi Schmidt discussed various topics, including the funding and other matters related to the county's forest preserves. Schmidt is a member of the Forest Preserves Land Preservation and Acquisition Committee.
She also fielded students' questions about the possibility that Lake County might host the equestrian events for the 2016 Olympic Games, if Chicago wins the bid.
Schmidt has visited many area high schools and said she was excited to speak at LCHS because she is a Lake Villa resident. |
