Eagles sponsor holiday drives to help community

Members of the English Department teamed up to purchase Christmas gifts for a local family.

Students and staff have organized several holiday drives to lend a hand to members of the community in need of assistance.
A holiday giving tree in the main office is filled with 200 ornaments, each listing a gift for members of 12 local families who need help this holiday season. Students are encouraged to return gifts by Dec. 11.
Some academic departments, advisory classes, athletic teams, and student clubs also have adopted families of their own, contributing donations or gifts to help the families celebrate their holidays.
The National Honor Society is collecting coats and new hats, gloves, mittens and scarves through Dec. 15 as part of its warm clothing drive, also in conjunction with the Open Arms Mission. Items can be dropped off in the boxes in the main office. Students who donate will earn a $2-3 discount to attend the Winter Formal on Saturday, Dec. 6. |
