"Jungle Fever" Homecoming is underway, with students participating in spirit days and looking ahead to Tuesday night's parade in Lindenhurst, Wednesday's powder-puff games, and Thursday's pep rally/bonfire. Additionally, the Eagles will face Vernon Hills High School for the Homecoming football game on Friday night, and the week will conclude with the dance on Saturday from 7-10 p.m. Tickets cost $13 or two for $20 and must be purchased during lunch periods prior to the event.
Members of the Student Government worked Sunday to decorate the building to match this year's theme. Columns near the locker bays were turned into trees, and streamers hang from the ceiling and walls in the commons and hallways.
At the kick-off pep rally on Sept. 19, this year's Homecoming court was announced:
Freshman Attendants: Jake Meeks and Maggie Becker
Sophomore Attendants: Nicholas Gass and Katie Chrapla
Junior Attendants: Nate Styx and Christina Guess
Senior Royalty: Jacoby Becker, Billy D. Brown, Bob Gumler, Jessica Frenzel, Jessi Gonzalez, and Kayla Menheer
Members of the court applied for the recognition, and then were selected based on the results of an online vote last week. The King and Queen will be announced at the pep rally/bonfire on Thursday night on the football field.
