Incoming freshmen students and their parents had the opportunity to explore the school on Jan. 23 during the annual Open House. About 350 students are expected to join the Eagles as the Class of 2012 next August.
Throughout the evening, students became acquainted with the many school-sponsored extra curricular activities, from athletics to the fine arts to the various clubs. Coaches and club sponsors set up information tables about the activities and were present—along with student athletes and club members—to provide further explanation about the programs.
Representatives from each of the academic departments also were available to answer questions, provide a basic run-through of what classes students can expect to take from year to year, and in some cases, demonstrate a class activity.
The Class of 2012 will be enrolling for courses the evenings of Feb. 13 and 14. The Guidance Department will send home a letter informing parents and incoming students about which of those sessions to attend. Parents should be prepared with a copy of their student's birth certificate as well as all work phone numbers.
