Yearbook staff earns first place rating for 'Live'
The Kettle Moraine Press Association awarded the yearbook staff with a first place rating for the 2007-2008 volume, "Live."
Judges gave the publication 861 out of 1,025 total points. The staff scored highest in the categories of Design & Typography and Photography.
"I thought they [designs] were very clean, and I thought we made great use of the space we had to get as much information as possible on the pages," said adviser Paul Cook.
Due to high enrollment numbers, this year's yearbook staff is divided into two different classes for the first time ever to produce the 2008-2009 book, "Life Through a Lens." Cook said the staff has experienced "growing pains" as a result of this shift from one class to two, but he is working on adjustments to make production run smoothly. For example, the editors from his two classes occasionally have met after school to discuss the book's theme.
"I think they've worked well together given the difficult circumstances of not seeing each other often," said Cook.
Students still can preorder a yearbook. Plain books are $50 and books with the student's name embossed on the cover are $55.
