Stone takes Mr. LCHS
This year's Mr. LCHS claimed not just one, but two titles after his performance at the third annual boys' pageant on March. 13.
Senior Erik Stone brought home the crown and shared the Mr. Talent sash with fellow contestant senior Jeremy Neuman. The duo performed Green Day's "Good Riddance"; Stone sang while Neuman played the guitar.
Ten senior boys signed up to take part in the event, including Stone and Neuman as well as Pat Adamek, Jacoby Becker, Marcus Brandt, Sean Kelley, Kevin Kelly, Eric Lopez, Quinton Shapcott, and John Strom. Kelley was named Mr. Congeniality.
Ashleigh Honaker, Senior Class sponsor, said her favorite part of the evening was Career Wear because "the guys seemed the most comfortable" when they were being introduced to the audience.
In addition to singing for a talent, other contestants rapped, played piano, and demonstrated their baseball and fireman skills. Kelly danced to Britney Spears' "Womanizer," and Strom played the recorder.
A panel of judges made up of teachers evaluated the contestants in the various categories, which also included Swim Wear, Formal Wear, and Short Answer. The evening was hosted by seniors Jessi Gonzalez and Becky Ryan.
