Mosaic stays in tune with Open Mic Night Open Mic Night goers enjoyed coffee, hot cocoa, and cookies as they relaxed and listened to the musical and literary talent of their peers. The third annual event took place on March 18 and is the literary magazine's primary fundraiser. Students sang duets, played the guitar, read poetry, and dabbled in improvisation throughout the evening. Mark Ring and Jim Hellen, department chairs at LCHS, also made appearances with their guitars, and in Hellen's case, his daughter, too. The stairs in the commons became a stage for the dozen or so performers. Attendees also had the opportunity to pre-purchase the third volume of Mosaic, "Secrets", for the reduced price of $5. Click here for a pre-purchase form. The literary magazine accepted more than 350 submissions from students for "Secrets," including short stories, poetry, scripts, song lyrics, photography, and various artwork. The staff is busy putting together the 128-page magazine, which is expected to be completed in mid-May. Copies will be sold for $7 at that time. Click here to visit Mosaic's website.
