Seniors walk away with another powder-puff victory
The senior powder-puff team pulled out a victory against its opponent — again — during the annual Homecoming event on Oct. 7, beating the juniors 18-0.
Senior Kecia Morway scored two of the team's three touchdowns. Shanna Hertz scored the other touchdown for the seniors.
The girls marched into the stadium behind the drum line before the game, donning tie-dyed t-shirts and determined to secure their undefeated record.
At halftime, they led 12-0, and Hertz's final touchdown sealed the outcome of the game.
The freshman team also pulled out a win against the sophomores, 13-6. At halftime, the score was 6-6, but a 70-yard touchdown run by freshman Kara Morway gave the younger team the edge it needed.
Assistant Principal Dave Newberry and Mark Ring, P.E. Department chair, officiated the games, which included 20-minute halves and a five-minute halftime. |
