Progress reports, newsletters no longer mailed home

From now on, most school-related documents that students and parents are accustomed to receiving in their mailboxes will be distributed to students during the school day or will be accessible online. The new procedure began on April 24, when students were given their progress reports during their second period classes to bring home to their parents.
The district hopes this practice will eliminate paper waste as well as save money on postage. Semester grade report cards will continue to be mailed home, but progress reports and registration packets will be given to students during the school day. Incoming freshmen students will be mailed their registration packets in early May.
Kitty Wiegel, administrative assistant of technology services, encouraged parents to check the PASS system regularly to stay up to date with student grades. Additionally, most documents, including registration materials and newsletters, now will be available on the homepage under "Information Station," a new area in the left column. To accommodate this adjustment, the "On the Calendar" feature has been moved to the right column and continues to list major events and holidays. |
