Newly-painted water tower wins 'Tank of the Year'
The newly-painted Providence at Painted Lakes Water Tower was named Tank of the Year by a Missouri-based company that specializes in industrial coatings for new construction and maintenance.
Tnemec Company featured the water tower in a calendar along with other honored water towers, many located in Illinois. A caption alongside a photograph of the January water tower explains that Jetco Ltd.'s coating work "will provide long-term color and gloss retention and ensure the high school logo looks great for years to come."
The $15,000 project was funded by the Village of Lake Villa along with the help of the Booster Club. The Booster Club collected contributions from area businesses and held fundraisers to cover the additional cost to include the school logo on the tower.
Work on the water tower began last fall year ago and finished up last spring.
