Community invited to attend Woman's Club Art Show May 7
 |
Two art festivals will be hosted by the Fine Arts Department before the end of the school year.
Student artwork from the 14 schools in the North Suburban Conference will be showcased at the annual NSC Art Festival this Friday, April 30 from 5:30-8 p.m. in the main gym. The top 50 pieces of student artwork will be featured in the gallery during the evening portion of the event. During the afternoon hours, seven students from each school will participate in workshops taught by various local artists, and they will hear from a keynote speaker, accomplished artist J. Anthony Kosar. Those same students will assist with set-up and clean-up.
Set-up has already begun for this large event — the first ever hosted by LCHS. Students will be released from school at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, April 30 to give organizers additional time to prepare.
The annual Antioch Woman's Club Art Show also will be held at LCHS on Friday, May 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Participating schools include Lakes and Antioch high schools as well as several middle schools that feed into District 117. Members of the Antioch Woman's Club will be serving pastries. This event also is open to the public. Admission is free for both art shows. |
