Taken the Coast takes two
One Battle of the Bands title wasn't enough for Taken the Coast. After winning the ACHS event on Jan. 16, the student band also earned a first place finish in the LCHS Battle of the Bands on Feb. 6. Appropriate, considering the group consists of a few Eagles, a few Sequoits.
For their second victory, Josh Weber, Marcus Sisler, Chris Sorenson, Tyler Koutny, and Joel Konitzer were awarded the opportunity to perform during the Lake County Fair. They also won a quarter-page ad in Feedback Magazine; a custom design/logo for the drummer’s bass drum head, compliments of Maxheads; a live interview on J-Street Radio; and a $50 t-shirt credit from New Trigger Media.
Five other bands competed in the event: Captain Alaskan, These City Skylines, Shut Your Mouth, Answers to the Odd, and Double Take.
The judges of the 2010 Battle of the Bands were Jesse Mendoza of J-Street Radio, “C” of Soundz AVL, and Joe Snyder, the co-owner & president of Skies Fall Studio.
