Polley Field receives facelift to resolve drainage issues
Passers-by of Polley Field probably have noticed the tractors and piles of dirt that are part of a month-long project designed to resolve the field's long-running drainage problem. The Board of Education approved the project proposal earlier this summer.
Draining work was completed on July 23, and workers began rolling sod on the field on July 27. The process also included root stimulation and will require a lot of watering.
The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 6. Athletic teams will not be allowed to practice or compete on the new field until the first home football game scheduled for Friday, Sept. 3 against Harvard High School. |
