A group of about 30 seniors spent their last days of summer break attending a training session for senior advisory and leading freshman orientation.
On Aug. 9, two members of the Round Lake Park District led a three-hour training session, so the seniors would learn to work together, get to know each other, and develop skills to use while working with the freshmen. The rest of the training day was used to cover freshman orientation and to plan the advisory activities for the first few weeks of school.
About 90 percent of the Freshman Class attended orientation the following day. Senior advisors were on hand as the freshmen received a copy of their schedules, their student identification cards, and textbooks, heard presentations from administration, and toured the school. Senior advisors also answered questions about athletics and activities.
